Juicy Lean Skinni Chicken High in Protein
Lean chicken high in protein. Long-time dieter’s friend and weekday stir-fry hero. Often the curse of the jaded cook or diner, chicken breast has become the millennial version of mince, where it’s versatility works against it until it becomes a culinary joke. But chicken breast, despite a somewhat flawed reputation, has way more positives than negatives; you just need to know where to look.
Those of us beyond a certain number of years have become stoically attached to our memories of chicken and roll out the platitudes on a regular basis.
The chicken industry once reached an all-time low, with images of overburdened birds standing on broken legs, squashed into the smallest imaginable space. Battery farming is no longer the norm, although still in existence, but the quality of chicken high in protein on offer can vary greatly. We don’t want much from our favourite bird. A reasonable outlay of expenditure, firm yet natural breasts, and a spark of personality. Not cheap, or bland, or exactly the same as the rest.
In short, the thing that we most require from chicken breast is that it tastes like chicken and is high in protein. After that, we would like our lean chicken breast to feel like it should. Firm, yet not dry, well-muscled yet not stringy. Not too small, not too big. Just a handful, some might say. Some chicken fillets are from a young bird, as opposed to a well-developed small one. Lacking in flavour and texture, they could be described as pappy. Conversely, a large fillet is likely to be stringy, with overly defined muscle texture and way too much connective tissue. Likely to have been fed an unnatural diet, or pumped full of water and pig proteins, these larger than life chicken fillets may taste slightly fishy or eggy. Not chickeny. Our chicken high in protein taste of chicken.
Our Skinni Range Chicken Breast has been carefully sourced and meets the demands on all counts. Not so cheap as you know it will be foul, but not beyond the realms of regular consumption. Good value in other words. These chicken fillets taste, and feel, like chicken. So, when it comes to putting chicken back on the menu, this is where you begin. Silk purses, sow’s ears and all that.
But why bother? Why not head straight for something way more exciting? Because proper chicken like ours is delicious. Because lean Skinni chicken fillets couldn’t be easier to cook. And because our marinated butterfly chicken steaks are most definitely exciting. We offer both a Skinni Mexican Chicken Butterfly Steak and a Skinni Italian Chicken Butterfly Steak.
And then there are those health benefits that we keep banging on about. Not because we want to deprive you of enjoyment, or take a holier than thou attitude. We just want you to experience your best self. That is what healthy eating is all about. Finding the path that works for you.
Our Chicken in one for the Lean Meat List
So, what does lean chicken do apart from being, well…lean. Obviously, there is that all important protein that will satisfy your appetite and keep you fuller for longer. And when it comes to amino acids, chicken has a slightly different profile to meat. A rich source of tryptophan, a natural anti-depressant, chicken eaten for the evening meal can contribute to greater restfulness. Turkey, also high in tryptophan was once the prescribed dietary fix for bedtime, but not many people are aware that chicken has the same therapeutic qualities.
Chicken is also the richest animal source of vitamin B6, a deficiency of which can contribute to fatigue. Vitamin B6 is often the first thing prescribed when investigating symptoms of fatigue, listlessness, and depression. Our Skinni Range chicken could you be all you need to put the spring back into your step, and as part of a balanced diet will certainly do no harm.
How much protein in Chicken?
